Description
Ascorbic acid
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is a potent antioxidant because of its ability to neutralize free radicals, helping to prevent and reduce oxidative damage caused by ultraviolet radiation radicals.
Ascorbic Acid stimulates collagen synthesis to strengthen the structural support and elasticity of skin and is an important catalyst for all metabolic processes involving calcium, such as muscle contraction and improving muscle tone. These two properties help in maintaining firmness.
Another very important action is to inactivate and mediate the tyrosinase enzyme responsible for melanin production which has a preventive effect on the formation of hyperpigmentation.
